Narendra Modi took the oath as Prime Minister for the third time in a row today, emphasizing continuity and experience in his new cabinet. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ensured representation for its partner parties in the government. Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, attended the ceremony, though other opposition leaders were notably absent.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, saw the attendance of over 9,000 people, including political stalwarts, prominent business leaders, and film personalities. President Droupadi Murmu hosted a banquet following the ceremony, attended by all the leaders present.
In a gesture highlighting inclusivity, the event also invited cleaning workers, members of the transgender community, and the builders of the new Parliament building. This diverse gathering reflected the government’s acknowledgment of various contributors to society.
Modi’s new cabinet is set to focus on stability and experience, signaling the administration’s commitment to continuing its established policies and governance style.
