Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, addressing an election rally today, affirmed her party’s commitment to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for falsely accusing the Congress of being anti-religious.

Gandhi highlighted that the Congress party follows Mahatma Gandhi’s principles, who invoked “Hey Ram” before his death, symbolizing his deep religious faith. “They are accusing us of being anti-Hindu,” she stated. “We follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi who said ‘Hey Ram’ before he died.”

In her speech, Priyanka Gandhi accused the BJP, which positions itself as the “champion of Hinduism,” of neglecting the welfare of cows in Uttar Pradesh. She pointed out the poor conditions in government cowsheds, alleging that dogs are seen scavenging the remains of dead cows. She contrasted this with the initiatives taken by the Congress-led government in Chhattisgarh, where the party had improved the conditions of cowsheds and purchased cow dung to support groups running these facilities.

Gandhi also addressed allegations of being anti-religious for not attending an event in Ayodhya. “They accuse us of being against religion for not accepting the invitation to the event in Ayodhya,” she said, while urging the public to “look at the condition of cowsheds in UP.”

Highlighting the Congress party’s historical connection with Rae Bareli, Gandhi reminded the audience of the Gandhi family’s longstanding relationship with the constituency. She assured voters that Rahul Gandhi, who is contesting from Rae Bareli, would continue this tradition after winning the election.

Priyanka Gandhi further accused the Modi government of taking undue credit for the Mufti Ration Yojana by branding it with their image. She pointed out that the Congress-led UPA government had originally introduced the Food Security Act, which laid the foundation for such schemes.

Criticizing the BJP over repeated question paper leaks in Uttar Pradesh, she promised that the Congress would implement strict laws to prevent such incidents if voted to power.

Priyanka Gandhi’s campaigning efforts are in full swing in Rae Bareli, reinforcing the Congress’s commitment to addressing local issues and upholding the legacy of the Gandhi family.
