Tragedy strikes Afghanistan as the death toll from relentless floods triggered by heavy rains surges past 300, confirmed by the UN Food Program. The northern and northwestern regions bear the brunt of nature’s fury, with more than 62 casualties reported in Baghlan province alone. Idayatullah Hamdard, provincial director of natural disaster management, lamented the widespread destruction of homes and properties, underscoring the dire humanitarian crisis unfolding.
