A tragic incident unfolded near Vadodara’s Pandya bridge as an unidentified individual lost their life after being struck by an electric wire atop a freight train wagon. The unfortunate event occurred on the 396/37-39 up line of a goods train, leaving the victim deceased on the spot.
Upon receiving the distress call, the fire brigade swiftly responded, battling the flames for nearly half an hour before gaining control. According to Fire Officer Amitbhai Chaudhary, the victim, who had boarded the wagon carrying a tanker filled with petrol, accidentally came into contact with a high-tension power line, resulting in a fatal outcome due to fire.
The authorities, including railway police, fire brigade personnel, and senior railway officials, promptly initiated necessary measures upon learning of the incident. This unfortunate incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers associated with unauthorized travel on freight trains, urging for heightened awareness and safety precautions among individuals.
