With the Lok Sabha elections looming, the political landscape is fraught with division and intrigue. In a significant turn of events, Ravneet Singh Bittu, the sitting Member of Parliament representing Ludhiana Lok Sabha Constituency in Punjab, has announced his departure from the Congress party to join the BJP. Bittu’s move also sees him contesting from the Jalandhar constituency under the BJP banner. Additionally, Sushil Rinku has left the AAP to join the BJP, further shaking up the political arena.
The defection has sparked criticism from senior Punjab Congress leader and opposition figure, Pratap Singh Bajwa. In a televised interview, Bajwa took aim at Bittu’s switch, expressing skepticism about his chances of success under the BJP ticket. Bajwa questioned the credibility of Bittu’s candidacy, labeling him as anti-Sikh and accusing him of espousing anti-farmer and anti-Punjab sentiments.
Bajwa’s remarks have added fuel to the already fiery political discourse surrounding Bittu’s defection, setting the stage for a contentious electoral battle. As the election fervor intensifies, the public awaits the outcome of this high-stakes political maneuvering with bated breath.
