In Bhucho Khurd village, Bathinda district, posters have surfaced banning the entry of leaders from the BJP, following the party’s decision to contest the Lok Sabha elections independently. Put up by the (Dakonda-Dhaner) faction, the posters assert, “Farmers are stopped from going to Delhi, BJP is stopped from coming to villages.”

According to the B.K.U. President of Bhucho Khurd Committee, if the farmers’ demands are not met, they plan to protest against the BJP, as invited by the Joint Kisan Morcha. Additionally, they intend to question BJP leaders about promises made to farmers during their campaign visits.

Tensions have escalated as police reportedly obstructed farmers from traveling to Delhi and erected barricades, prompting farmer organizations to oppose BJP leaders’ visits to villages. As election campaigns intensify in the coming weeks, the farmers’ resistance in the region is expected to escalate further.
