During a women’s rally in Maharashtra’s Dhule district, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi outlined five key guarantees aimed at empowering women if his party secures victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Addressing the crowd during the ‘Bharat Joko Nyaya Yatra’, Gandhi pledged to deposit Rs 1 lakh annually into the bank accounts of poor women and ensure 50 percent reservation in jobs for women.

Furthermore, Gandhi promised increased budgetary allocations for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), Anganwadi Workers, and women employed under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, with their share to be doubled. He emphasized the appointment of nodal officers to educate women about their rights and assist them in legal battles.

In a move to enhance women’s access to education and accommodation, Gandhi announced plans to establish Savitribai Phule hostels for women in every district of the country. These guarantees signify Congress’s commitment to gender equality and the upliftment of women across various spheres of life.

With the Lok Sabha elections on the horizon, Gandhi’s proposals aim to resonate with voters, particularly women, by addressing critical issues and offering tangible solutions towards fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
