In a significant turn of events, former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has tendered his resignation from the Legislative Assembly, just a day after stepping down from the chief ministerial post on March 12. Khattar, who represented the Karnal Assembly seat, has now vacated his position as an MLA.

Expressing his commitment to his future endeavors, Khattar stated, “Whatever my new responsibility will be decided, I will fulfill it properly,” indicating his readiness to embrace any forthcoming roles within the party.

With Khattar’s resignation, the Karnal seat has become vacant, prompting the nomination of the new Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini as the BJP candidate for the upcoming by-election. This move underscores the swift realignment of leadership within the state BJP, with Saini set to contest from Karnal.

Currently serving as a Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, Khattar’s decision marks a transition in his political journey, signaling a new chapter in his service to the state. As Haryana braces for the by-election and adjusts to the changes in its political landscape, the resignation of Khattar adds a layer of anticipation to the forthcoming electoral dynamics.
