In a renewed clash between Member of Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu and law enforcement authorities, Bittu finds himself under house arrest, with his residence sealed off by police in Ludhiana. The move comes in the wake of recent confrontations between Bittu and the government, escalating tensions to a new level.
The police detained Bittu and sealed his house following allegations of locking the municipal office, leading to the filing of an FIR against him. Earlier, Bittu was arrested during a protest at the police commissioner’s office, although he was later granted bail, vowing to stage further demonstrations by locking more government offices.
Amid preparations for the inauguration of a community center, Bittu’s plans were thwarted as police deployed a significant contingent to prevent the event. The authorities cited security concerns for placing Bittu and Congress district president Sanjay Talwar under house arrest, with a heavy police presence stationed outside their residences.
The development underscores the intensifying rift between Bittu and the government, marking yet another chapter in the ongoing political strife in Ludhiana.
