Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually inaugurated the ‘Mehtari Vandan’ scheme, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the welfare of women. Addressing the nation, Modi outlined the ambitious goal of making three crore women ‘Lakhpati Didi’ through this initiative. The scheme, initially rolled out in Chhattisgarh, will provide a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 to 70 lakh women in the state.
During his address, Modi announced the deposition of the first installment, totaling Rs 655 crore, into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries. Expressing his connection to the holy city of Kashi, he conveyed blessings from Baba Vishwanath, stating that he prayed for the well-being of the nation’s people on Saturday night.
In addition to launching the ‘Mehtari Vandan’ scheme, the Prime Minister participated in a virtual event in Ranchi, Jharkhand, inaugurating the light house project. As part of this initiative, house keys were handed over to 10 beneficiaries during the program, marking a significant step towards providing housing support to those in need.
