The India Meteorological Department issued a forecast today, indicating that India is poised to encounter intense heat at the onset of the upcoming summer season. Additionally, El Nino conditions are anticipated to persist throughout the season, contributing to the likelihood of prolonged heat waves.
Regions expected to bear the brunt of extended high temperatures include Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, and significant parts of Maharashtra and Odisha. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions as the heat wave is anticipated to persist for more days than usual.
On a contrasting note, the Meteorological Department also predicted that the country might witness above-normal rainfall in March, offering a potential relief from the scorching temperatures. This dynamic weather scenario prompts citizens to stay informed about the evolving conditions and adapt accordingly as summer approaches.
