Residents across various districts in Punjab experienced a sudden shock as an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale struck on Monday night around 9:30. The affected areas included Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ferozepur, Chandigarh, and Tarn Taran. The National Seismological Center reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Tarn Taran, approximately 40 km below the earth’s surface.
Fearing the tremors, people rushed out of their homes to seek safety. Fortunately, there are no reports of casualties or significant damage at this time. The intensity of the earthquake, as measured by the National Seismological Center, remains at 3.8 on the Richter scale.
