In a significant stride towards enhancing the nation’s rail infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for nearly 2,000 railway projects, collectively valued at over Rs 41,000 crore. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the dedication of several projects to the nation, marking a milestone in India’s transportation development.
Among the key initiatives, Mr. Modi initiated the foundation stone laying for the renovation of 553 railway stations under the Pradhan Mantri Amrit Bharat Station Yojana. Through a video conference, the Prime Minister highlighted the comprehensive redevelopment plan, which includes prominent stations like Jalandhar, Beas, and Moga in Punjab. These transformative projects span across 27 states and Union Territories, with an estimated investment exceeding Rs 19,000 crore.
The ambitious endeavor reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing and revitalizing the railway network, aiming to provide passengers with upgraded facilities and a seamless travel experience. This extensive investment reaffirms India’s dedication to fostering robust infrastructure for the benefit of its citizens and the nation’s overall progress.
