In a significant development, farmer leaders Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Sarwan Singh Pandher, during a press conference at Sambhu border, announced the rejection of the central government’s proposal for resolving the ongoing farmers’ movement. Dallewal declared that they would march to Delhi on February 21 at 11 am, emphasizing their refusal to accept the government’s offer.

Dallewal argued against the government’s proposal, stating that they demand Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops. Citing the insights of agricultural expert Prakas Kamaradi, he highlighted that a mere 1 lakh 75 thousand crore rupees could ensure MSP for all crops. The farmers criticized the government for focusing on the sale arrangements for only a few crops and neglecting the rest.

Sarwan Singh Pandher raised concerns about the tardiness of government representatives in meetings, urging punctuality for productive discussions. Additionally, he questioned the government’s prioritization, pointing out that while 1 lakh 75 thousand crore rupees are spent on importing palm oil, the same investment could support farmers in growing oilseed crops.

As tensions escalate, the farmers’ decision to march to Delhi signals a continued struggle for their demands.
