In compliance with the directives of the Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow bench, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against BJP Member of Parliament (MP) from Gonda, Kirti Vardhan Singh, and two police inspectors in connection with the alleged occupation of a Gurdwara in September last year. The FIR, lodged at Manakpur police station, also includes 50 to 60 others.
Superintendent of Police, Vineet Jaiswal, confirmed the registration of the case and the involvement of multiple individuals. The legal action follows a petition filed by Gurbachan Kaur, who sought intervention in the matter. The High Court had initially ordered the registration of the case on January 30 of the previous year.
Surprisingly, despite the court’s earlier directives, the police had not initiated the case. Frustrated by the lack of action, Gurbachan Kaur approached the High Court once again. The court’s intervention underscores the significance of addressing the alleged occupation of the Gurdwara, prompting legal proceedings against the accused, including the BJP MP and police inspectors.
This development has added a layer of scrutiny to the actions of the accused and raises questions about the delayed response by law enforcement. As the legal process unfolds, the case is expected to draw attention from various quarters, emphasizing the importance of accountability in matters concerning religious institutions and public figures.
