In a gripping turn of events, the Patiala Police successfully apprehended the prime suspect in the tragic killing of Samir Kataria, a young resident of the city. The accused, along with three accomplices, had eluded authorities after snatching an I20 car in Ludhiana, eventually arriving in Patiala.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (S.S.P.) Patiala, the suspects abandoned the stolen vehicle at the railway station and fled to Patiala via train. Once in Patiala, they attempted to forcibly seize a vehicle from Samir Kataria. In the ensuing confrontation, the suspects resorted to gunfire, leading to the untimely demise of the young man.
The police swiftly launched a manhunt, resulting in the arrest of all four suspects. However, when the law enforcement officers attempted to apprehend the main perpetrator, he opened fire on them. In the exchange of gunfire that followed, the accused sustained injuries and was promptly admitted to Rajindra Hospital for initial treatment.
S.S.P. Patiala provided details of the daring operation, emphasizing the resilience and determination of the police force in bringing the culprits to justice. The arrested individuals are now in custody, facing charges related to the murder of Samir Kataria, as well as additional offenses stemming from their criminal activities.
